I'm looking for a pirate-themed activity, suitable for kids, in Atlanta, GA. Help?

I'm planning a birthday party for my son for the end of this month. He wants an "outing" to go along with the party, similar to his party last year (we went to the Aquarium, then came home for an underwater-theme party). I'm coming up blank on where to go! Help!!!

Why not do a treasure hunt? Split the kids into two teams and give them the same list of things and a disposable camera (or have two digital cameras for each team). Have an adult go with each group and whichever team gets done first wins.

Something else you could do is do up a treasure map and have the treasure as being a special surprise in the backyard at home (Get it while they're gone). Take them to a place nearby and drop them off, with adults, and let them find their way home. It'll also teach them how to use a map and teamwork.

Give each child an eye patch when they come in and take them to a craft table. On the craft table have little wooden boxes that can be decorated with plastic gems, glitter glue and markers. All of these supplies can be purchased At Michael's or on line at oriental traders. Give them 30 to 45 min. for this task.
Before the party, hide the pieces of a large puzzle in your yard. As they find a piece they can come to get their next clue. The reward for finding all of the clues is a handful of chocolate gold coins to fill their pirates chest.
Finish the party by watching Captain Hook.

I don't know how old your son is but American Adventures has the pirate ship and so many other rides. I went to tons of parties there as a child and it was so much fun with the rides and pizza and ice cream. Or maybe you could go to White Water...the weather is perfect!

you could plan treasure hunting activities, or maybe have a "sword battle" You can try party catalogs, like Rhode Island Novelty, for good pirate supplies, like eyepatches and plastic swords, that you can buy in large numbers.

I'm not too farmiliar with Atlanta, but are there any historical ships that are open for people to go on that you could turn into a "Pirate SHip" for them? If the kids wouldn't be two bored with it, they could be sunken pirates, and scan the aquarium for sunken treasure.

Good Luck with your pirate party, I had one when i turned 4!!!
