Interviews !!! opening and closing an interview?

how do you open and close an interview ???

I do not believe 'you' should open the interview.

Do you have any additional questions for me?
Is there anything you need me to clarify?
Can I have your card?
When can I start?
What is my next step?
When is training, can you tell me about it?
In comparison to the candidates you previously spoke with what did you like best about me/dislike?

In any order.... A few questions here also give you ammunition you can use when writing a cover letter. It really depends upon the job/person you are speaking with.

Open the interview and give it a serious appeal. I would want to know what the job was that I was applying for, an overview of my responsibilities, my rights as an employee, who will I work for, and lots of other details. This is your interview too, they may not want to work for your company if you don't show some benefit. Lot of ideas!

In closing besure you ask them if this job is something would would like to do? If not you may have to refit them to another open position in your company. The peron accross the desk from you may be the best you can find!

I have been on many interviews and I believe the proper course of action is to wait until the prospective employer starts speaking. The prospective employer will also indicate when the interview is completed. If you take charge of the interview the employer may think you are very controlling.
